So we have made it to South Korea. I flight was very uneventful. We got to still next to a Christian girl who is in Korea teaching English for the first time. We enjoyed chatting with her and telling her about our experiences here last year. We both managed to sleep a little bit on the plane, which is better than usual for us.
Our flight arrived 1 hour early and we were very happy to find that all 5 of our checked bags made it without difficulty. When we exited customs our driver, Richard, was waiting for us with a sign that had our names on it. He drove us to Ilsan to get our stored stuff, which took several hours because we had to wait for our friends who stored our stuff to get home. It was great to see Jason, Michelle, and Jane again. Our stuff just barely fit into the van. While we were waiting for Jane I asked Richard what floor our apartment was on. He said the 5th floor but…there is NO elevator!
So after being awake for over 24 hours we had to carry all of our boxes and 5 50lb suitcases up five flights of stairs. We thought we were going to die, but somehow we made it. We have decided that living without an elevator will help us to get into really good shape.
We were looking for the sheets we brought with us. After digging through 7 suitcases we found them in the last one. So we got all of our suitcases emptied last night. I woke up at 3:30 am and could not go back to sleep, so I just started unpacking boxes and had them all empty by the time Chris got out of bed at 5:45am.
Our plan for today is to go exploring and find the bakery and grocery store. We ate beef jerky, granola bars and crackers for breakfast. Then I think I will take a nap and then this afternoon I plan on cleaning the apartment.
We go to school for some type of orientation on Sunday morning. They are picking us up at 7:35 am to take us to the school. We will start working on Monday and will be picked up at the same time. It is going to be early, but at least this year Chris and I are on the same schedule. We are told that we will work from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. So we should make it home around six.

We just returned from our first adventure out of our apartment. We were on a mission to find a grocery store. We could not find the one Richard told us about, so we walked for a very long time and found a Home Plus Express. They only carried groceries. We got what we needed for food for today. We are hoping to go back out later and find some fruits and vegetables. They had then at the Home Plus but it was too far to walk with a lot of groceries.
We also found two Paris Baguettes . It is our favorite bakery. To get to Home Plus you turn left at the first Paris Baguette and then turn left again at the second Paris Baguette. They were still putting out the food when we got there. We looked around and said to bad they don’ t have the coconut rolls that we like. Then the lady walked out with a tray of them that were still fresh. It made a great second breakfast.
It is very humid here today. We think it is because of the typhoon that hit earlier in the week. We hope it will start to cool down soon. I think we are going to look forward to spring.
