Lasagna

Hello,

I have just gotten back into the swing of blogging. This morning Chris and I made lasagna in the crock pot. I didn't have high hopes for it, but it was great. I browned some hamburger and added a jar of Prego sauce. Chris grated a block of mozzerrella cheese and what was left of the block of cheddar. We hadn't had cheddar in so long that we kept getting into it. Thankfully there was plenty left for the lasagna. I layered it in the crock pot just like you would for a regular lasagna in a casserole dish.

We had some lasagna noodles shipped from the states. It didn't matter that some of them were broken because we had to brake them to make them fit in the round pot anyway. All the other items we found at Costco.

The only modifications we made were that we added 1/4 cup of water for the noodles to absorbe since we put them in uncooked. We did not add any Ricotta or Cottage cheese because we cannot find them here. The recipe said to cook it on low for 5 hours. Yeah right. We put it in at 10:00 am then we went to church. We were not looking forward to having to smell the great aroma until dinner time. However when we got home at 3:00 pm I checked it and it was done. The noodles were just right and not over cooked.

It tasted really good. We have been to one restaurant here that sells lasagna but it was around $15.00 per slice and who can only eat one slice of lasagna?

Next time I will add more salt. You always need to add extra seasonings when using a crock pot. We have also talked about adding some fennel which Chris' mom is shipping to us and should arrive next week. Finally we will add some garlic and mushrooms. We love how cheap and what a wide variety of mushrooms we can get in Korea.

Next on my crock pot to do list is BBQ ribs. Thanks Aunt Donna and Amanda for recommending this recipe, I will let you no how it turns out. I have already succesfully made baked potatoes in the crock pot so next time I will add them to the bottom of the BBQ rib pot.

Sorry if this blog makes you hungry. I think I will go eat a second slice of lasagna.
