Thanksgiving 2011

We just celebrated our 3rd Thanksgiving in Korea. It is strange to celebrate such an American holiday in a foreign land. We celebrated with the same friends we did two years ago. Here is a link to that post. Thanksgiving 2009.

This year Jason and Michelle hosted the Thanksgiving feast in their new apartment.

It is always fun to try to find Thanksgiving food items in Korea. I jumped up and down when Chris found a giant bunch of celery. He had to go to a special store in Dongdaemoon to find Pumpkin paste but it was well worth it. We were in charge of dessert and a vegetable. We had more of a challenge this year because we have gone gluten free. We were able to make plenty of desserts that everyone loved.

The turkey was purchased at Costco (Yay! for Costco), the stuffing and cranberries were brought in the suit case of a guest who was visiting from America.

Turkey, Potatoes, Stuffing, Rolls, Cranberry Sauce,  Pumpkin Pie, Desserts, and Green Beans. We had a feast and it was good.

Best of all we were able to hang out with a lot of good friends. Football was missing, but that is okay, Jason updated us on the whole season while we were waiting for the food to cook.

 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

PS. All photos belong to Jason and Michelle. We brought our camera but forgot to use it as usual.
