We went to work this morning and after the regular meeting they led us outside and we began sweeping the parkinglot of leaves and pine needles. They said we'd be spending the next three days cleaning and after that we would work on preparing for winter camp. I think winter camp is still far away, but can't be sure. As Jenn and I were sweeping needles into a pile, our supervisor (Peter) called us over to a brief outdoor meeting with himself and Young (our director). They asked us if we were willing to go to GwanakEnglish Village in Seoul for 9 days. We agreed and were sent to pack our things in the office. After packing, we were driven to our apartment where we packed all the things we thought we would need for the week+ that we will be in Gwanak. We didn't have much time, but packed anything we thought we might need. A driver came down to get us and helped load our things in a van, and an hour or so later, we arrived at Gwanak camp.
Today, Jenn had two classes and I had one, but I understand we'll have more tomorrow. It is interesting being in another English Village and seeing the differences and similarities. I personally like the fact that our main building has the appearance of a bunker on the outside. I'll post a picture of it after I take one.
We have met some new foreign teachers and they all seem nice. I expect we'll get to know them better in the next week + that we will be here.

ReplyDeleteHello Chris and Jenn! I'm actually currently working at Daegu English village and was wondering what the apartments are like at Gwanak EV. Are they one rooms? At Dgev there's a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and balcony (all separated, the drawback is that the apartment is away from the subway and you have to take city bus). What are Gwannak apartments like?
